Because Cooper Island Beach Club is an eco-resort, they have incredible flora (and some fauna)! Some of the food used on site in the restaurant is grown on the island. I had never seen bananas “in the wild,” and honestly, I thought it was the coolest thing seeing them hang from a tree off one of the paths. Our previous visit to Cooper Island, back in 2019, we were snorkeling off the back of our boat and saw a shark and sting ray. Turtles are also known to spend time in the mooring field.

It’s so beautiful on Cooper Island. Do we really have to leave?!

Bushwackers all around for our salty crew! Traditional bushwackers are made with vodka, Kahlua, Amaretto, Bailey’s Irish Cream, coconut rum, cream of coconut, ice, chocolate syrup around the inside of the cup, and a little nutmeg on top. Blended right, it’s smooth and tastes like dessert.

Eating out can get really expensive in the islands, especially when you’re there on vacation and already spending a lot of money. At most restaurants we visit, we take advantage of happy hour specials to get cheaper food and drinks, allowing us to save a few bucks while still getting to sample the local flavors. We don’t mind eating a little earlier than normal, and if we get hungry later while on the boat, we can just snack.

The beach at Cooper Island is quite nice, with lounge chairs to relax in as you look out over the mooring field toward Tortola. We caught an incredible sunset over our Lagoon 380 charter boat as we finished dinner. There’s a dart board next to the restaurant, and we enjoyed finishing the night with a friendly round of competition.
